PDP and their 12 disciples…

Its amazing how politics work in Nigeria. To defeat a supposed adversary, former enemies band together and form what I call a ‘deadly alliance’ to fight the opposition, then they come up with faults and mistakes that the current government had made, faults and mistakes that if I should say were made with them also in that same government. The coming election ladies and gentlemen, is no different. Former members of the APC, atiku, saraki and others to mention left the ruling party months before the election, their reasons?, oh the usual,

1) wasn’t the right party,

2) better plans for Nigeria

3) misappropriation of funds(this was so ironic)

4) …….etc

And the ironic part?, these were the same set of people who left the former ruling party PDP, for the current APC with these same allegations!. It has become so obvious that we don’t practice democracy again in this country, no, what we practice is a party system of government where you look for the party that has the highest chance of winning the election and wiggle your way in irrespective of the crimes you committed with the other party you were before. All you need to do is publicly denounce the old party, do something as dramatic as tearing your membership card of the old party in front of the members of the new party and then state your allegiance to the new party.

Let’s take for instance, former vice president atiku abubakar, started with the PDP in the same year as former president olusegun obasanjo, served his term as vice president and wanted to run again as president cause, its a normal thing right?. Got the denied the position and then decided to move to the now defunct party ACN (action congress of Nigeria) stating that the PDP had lost their path…..wow. Moving to the ACN, he tried to go for the presidency also, losing the position in the primaries of the party, then and there again he defected to the PDP who welcomed him back like the prodigal son cause its normal to change parties as much as you like right?, freedom of party and all that. Stating that he lost his way and was back in the right part, he tried again to go for the presidency, however lost to the late umar yaradua and former president goodluck Jonathan who was the running mate of the late president.

However he was determined to never give up and then stayed to try another time (thank the heavens), however the heavens were not on his side again as he lost to the former president goodluck Jonathan who took over again…..ouch.

Finally seeing that the PDP was not the party for Nigeria….. Again, he moved the the current APC who welcomed him again. He tried again for the presidency( this is getting tiring), and he won!(just joking), he lost to the current president Mohammad buhari and his running mate Prof yemi osibanjo. And that leads us to the current timeline in which he decided again that the APC has failed Nigeria (as expected) and has now decided to leave to the PDP, got a ticket for the primary and is determined to win the election!( good luck sir)

This coming election will be all but boring, the drama, suspense, betrayal, heartbreak, and surprises in store for us will be nothing short of a wale adenuga production, so sit tight and enjoy the ride!

Ps: vote wisely, think of tomorrow, not the current condition of your bank accounts
